About the Download

This gentle resource is made for midlife makers and returning artists who feel called back to creativity — but aren’t sure where to begin. If you’ve been away from your art practice for a while, this 2-minute worksheet offers a soft first step. It doesn’t ask you to make anything. It simply invites you to notice what once sparked creativity in you — because noticing is where momentum begins.  Inside, you’ll explore: why movement — not inspiration — rekindles creative rhythm, a gentle method to re-engage your creative mind, and a simple reflection prompt for when you feel stuck.  Creativity doesn’t return all at once. It begins when you start to notice again.

Meet Your Creative Guide

Hi, I'm Jacquie, I’ve spent over 30 years teaching Visual Arts — guiding students as they explored, experimented, and found their voice. But when I retired, I thought creativity would come naturally… and sometimes it didn’t.  Like many midlife makers, I needed a way back in — not pressure, not perfection. Just gentle momentum. This worksheet isn’t about making something. It’s about noticing — which is always where creativity begins. It’s how I taught my students to start, and it’s still how I begin in my own studio today. If you feel even a tiny spark — that’s enough. We’ll build from there.

What Others Have Experienced

I’ve guided creatives of all ages — from beginners to artists returning after a long pause. Creativity doesn’t return all at once. Sometimes it starts with being seen, encouraged — and gently guided forward. Here are a few notes I’ve received over the years:

“Jacquie made it easy to ask questions and try new techniques. She’s a great instructor to begin with — especially if you’re nervous about starting again.”
Katie K.

returning maker

“I was the only beginner in the course, but Jacquie made me feel included and capable. She encouraged me beyond the basics — and even online, it felt like being right in the studio.”
Gurpreet N.

adult learner

“The lesson was systematic and easy to follow. I’d encourage anyone needing motivation to step back into creativity to try her guidance.”
Sharon B.

workshop student

“She helped me see strengths in my work — even when I couldn’t. She guided without pressure, and that made creativity feel possible again.”
Loridee D.

former high school student
